It’s time to get ready for summer and that means time to get your tan on! But I prefer a healthy tan, and that means faking it. There’s no need to be scared of fake tan. If you apply it correctly and buy the right product, you’ll have the perfect summer glow. To avoid the unpleasant fake tan smell, streakiness or intense orange colour, here are some pointers for an amazing natural looking fake tan at home. My favourite fake tanning products are Bondi Sands and Loving Tan.Both of these tans come in light and dark varieties so there’s nothing to worry about if you like a subtler colour.
First, start by having a good shower and using both an exfoliating scrub and exfoliating glove. Give yourself a good scrub all over. This will mean your tan will be applied to fresh clean skin so it will last longer. Make sure you moisturize in places where you don’t want the tan to go too dark. For example your knees, ankles, nails and elbows. I like to use Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar body butter; it smells amazing and just like summer, and there will be no sign of that fake tan smell. Don’t moisturize you’re entire body as the tan won’t stick.

Apply all over evenly. Once this is done, wait 10 minutes before dressing or your clothes will start to turn pink or brown. Within 6-8 hours your tan will develop, you can shower after 3 hours of leave it for as long as you like. Every day after this, you must moisturize all over, if your skin goes too dry, the tan will stick and become scaly! This should have you feeling naturally brown all summer long, when it starts to fade, just start the process again! Happy tanning ladies!
